Clinical Legal and Policy Education (CLPE)

CLPE is an integral part not only of raising awareness of the applicable laws and protections of states, but of facilitating access to justice for those in need through pro bono and volunteer work.

CLPE is not only based in law firms and NGOs – as is the case with traditional Clinical Legal Education – but can also take place in non-legal environments where policy and lobby work shifts government stances for the greater good. Activist groups, think tanks, and other policy-oriented organisations can offer invaluable insight either as alternatives or complimentary experiences for legal, political, economic, and international relations students.

CSIPS is in the process of establishing a CLPE programme for students to undertake periods of work with key advocates, organisations, and firms and will make this publicly available shortly once the programme has been launched.
